Indiantown Presbyterian Church was organized in 1757 with John James and Robert Wilson as founding elders. The British burned it in 1780 as "a sedition shop." It was rebuilt after the Revolution. The present building was begun in 1830 and remodelled in 1919. Major John James, a Revolutionary hero, is buried in the churchyard.
