Turnbull Creek Educational State Forest is an 890-acre protected area in Elizabethtown, North Carolina, and the only educational state forest in the state’s coastal plain. Located beside Jones Lake State Park and surrounded by the larger Bladen Lakes State Forest, it serves primarily to teach the public about forestry practices. As a working landscape, it shows how forests are managed as well as protected, giving it a distinct role in the state forest system as a place dedicated to education about the coastal plain’s forests.
