Their losses included 1,937 killed in action, 3,319 wounded in action, 67 former prisoners of war, and 54 missing in action in World War I; 6,781 killed in action, 11,650 wounded in action, 652 former prisoners of war, and 364 missing in action in World War II; 740 killed in action, 1,040 wounded in action, 97 former prisoners of war, and 174 missing in action in the Korean War; and 1,584 killed in action, 14 wounded in action, 2 former prisoners of war, and 0 missing in action in the Vietnam War. The Cold War also counted 1,000,000 or more veterans, with 660,900 living in Georgia on 7/1/99.
