At Norway Lutheran Church, a bell was placed in memory of the men and women who endured the dangers and hardships of pioneer life and still found time and money to build churches for themselves and for those who should follow them. The history of the Norway Congregation records its organization in 1874, the organization of the East and West Ladies Aid in 1886, the dedication of a new church in 1890, the joining of Norway, Willow Creek, and Baltic as a parish in 1890, the organization of the Luther League in 1902, the joining of Norway, Palisade, and Zion as a parish from 1921 to 1958, its merger with Sherman in 1965, and the destruction of the church by fire in 1971.
