The German Evangelical Church and Cemetery was established in 1895 on one and one-quarter acres in Tenhassen Section 22, Martin County, Minnesota, on land donated by Ed Hoffmeyer. Founding members included Henry Sr. and Jr., Fred and August Rosenberg, Edward, Kossuth, and Walter Hoffmeyer, Gottfried Schmidt, Conrad Brutsch, and Charles Bartling. Buried here, among known and unknown souls, were Clara Rosenberg, Malinda Hoffmeyer, Herman Hoffmeyer, Johanna Bassett, and Wm Holldorf baby. In 1905 the church was moved across the ice of Tuttle Lake to the Village of Ceylon, and early records were destroyed in the tornado of 1936.
