Duncannon's Christian tradition began in 1804 with the Presbyterian Church at the Mouth of the Juniata and continued through churches that served the community over more than 100 years, including the 1st Asbury Methodist from 1840 to 1890, the 2nd Asbury Methodist from 1890 to 2014, the German Reformed from 1858 to 1893, the United Church of Christ from 1913, Christ Lutheran from 1885, Otterbein EUB from 1903 to 2006, the Church of God from 1873 to 1958, and the Presbyterian from 1888.
