A bronze reproduction of Whistler's famous painting honors all mothers past and present and was erected by the Ashland Boys Association. Dedicated on Sept. 4, 1938, it was designed by Emil Siebern and sculpted by Julius C. Loester, and it was the only one of its kind in the country.
