Ripley Fire Lookout Tower stands on Joe Crihfield Road in Ripley, Tennessee, as a surviving part of the region’s fire detection and forestry history. Built around 1970 for the Tennessee Division of Forestry and also known as Edith tower, it reflects the role fire lookout towers played in monitoring forests and supporting wildfire detection. Its historical importance was formally recognized when it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2020.
