Campgaw Mountain Reservation is a Bergen County park in northern New Jersey centered on Campgaw Mountain, with most of its land in Mahwah and smaller sections in Oakland and Franklin Lakes. It is especially known for a compact ski area near New York City that has long served beginners, local skiers, and young people, with chairlifts, novice lifts, tubing, and modest lodge facilities. Its gentle terrain and easy access have made it a common starting point for new skiers. The site also carries a Cold War history: the U.S. Army established a Nike missile station there in 1955, upgraded it to Nike-Hercules missiles in 1959, and operated it until June 1971.
