The congregation formed in the spring of 1873 and met for a time in various area schools. The church was built in 1886 and dedicated in the spring of 1887. It was located about one mile south in California, then moved to New Pine Creek in 1897. The present property was acquired by deed recorded May 28, 1900. An extension was added and the church was moved to its present location in 1941. The congregation celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1973.
