T.R. Lorimer Block 1896
History
3
From 1896 until after the turn of the century, S.L. McConnell and J.C. Watt operated the handsome Antiers Bar here. Typical of Cripple Creek's "gentleman-like" saloons, the front bar served liquor to customers who stood in casual groups exchanging news of the day. Behind a paneled, stained glass divider, more discreet business took place, including poker games and arrangements for a Myers Avenue call girl to be ushered in the back door.
