Jackson Mound is a Native American earthwork on a high terrace in south-central Ohio north of Pancoastburg, now measuring about 75 feet across and 5.5 feet high. Though never excavated and not certainly linked to a specific people, its form and setting suggest it may belong to the Adena culture and may once have been more conical, possibly covering a wooden charnel house. Farming and years of plowing altered its shape, but it remains especially important because it is the only one of the forty-two mounds recorded in Fayette County in 1914 known to survive. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
