W. C. Clemmons Mound is a Native American earthwork in south-central Ohio near Fox, standing in a farm field by a creek as a nearly perfect circular cone about twenty-two feet high and one hundred forty-four feet in diameter. Archaeologists identify it as a probable Adena burial mound, part of a tradition of building log tombs and placing grave goods with important leaders. Because it has never been excavated, its contents are unknown, a fact that adds to its importance. Exceptionally well preserved with little change since Euro-American settlement, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 for its archaeological value.
