The Saffo Building is a late Art Deco style masonry and stucco commercial building built for Anthony Saffo (1892-1966), a restaurateur; his wife, Anastasia Vassilaros (1892-1961), a homemaker; and his sister-in-law, Argiro V. Saffo (1901-2003), all natives of Ikaria, Greece. It remained in the family for 73 years. It later became the site of the Tower 7 restaurant, opened in 2006 by local restaurateur and surfer Joshua B. Vach (1965-2019), who was named UNCW Distinguished Citizen of the Year and inducted into the Wrightsville Beach Museum Waterman Hall of Fame.
