Rock Springs Run State Reserve is a fourteen-thousand-acre protected landscape in central Florida stretching from Sorrento into Orange and Seminole counties. Shaped by water, it preserves pine flatwoods, swamps, artesian springs, and river corridors crossed by Seminole Creek, Wekiwa Springs Run, Rock Springs Run, and the Wekiva River. Paddling is central here, including a nine-mile trail linking Kings Landing, the preserve, and the Wekiva River. The area also contains Indian mounds, supports recreation from hiking to horseback riding and camping, and provides habitat for species such as Florida black bear, Florida scrub jay, and rare freshwater snails, including the endemic Rock Spring siltsnail.
