Ashokan Bridge is a wooden covered bridge spanning Esopus Creek on the grounds of the Ashokan Center in Ulster County, New York. Also called the Turnwood Bridge or New Paltz Campus Bridge, it is among the relatively few covered bridges still standing in the state. Built in 1885 as a single-span, gable-roofed timber structure, it measures 72 feet 6 inches long and 16 feet 4 inches wide. The bridge originally stood at Turnwood before being moved to its present site in 1939. In 2000, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its age and significance among New York’s surviving covered bridges.
