Maj. Jacob Hasbrouck, Jr. served as a house member of the Provincial Congress in 1775 and as an officer of the 3rd reg. N.Y. militia. He was the grandson of Jean Hasbrouck, the patentee, and this was the birthplace of Jacob M. Hasbrouck, the 1st mayor of New Paltz in 1887. Land title vested by family wills.
