Weakley County, Tennessee, honored its Confederate soldiers who served from 1861 to 1865. Soldiers from the county participated in western battles including Belmont, Donaldson, Shiloh, Perryville, Murfreesboro, Chickamauga, Missionary Ridge, Resaca, Kennesaw Mountain, Atlanta, Okalona, Guntown, Harrisburg, Franklin, Nashville, and Bentonville. Weakley County furnished three companies of the 1st and one company each of the 9th, 15th, 27th, 33rd, and 51st Tenn. Infantry regiments, four companies of cavalry, and additional soldiers to other companies in the Confederate service.
