On 11-20-46, Fred purchased Tate's Bar in Mamou, Louisiana, which became Famous "Fred's Lounge." In 1950, Courir de Mardi Gras was revived there. In June 1962, the late Revon Reed began a remote radio program there that is still active today on KPVI 1050AM. After World War II, a French renaissance in Cajun music, language, and culture originated there.
