Lieutenant Robert "Hoyle" Upchurch served in the 23rd Fighter Group, 74th Squadron of the U.S. Army Air Corps. A member of the famous Flying Tigers, he was listed as MIA/KIA on October 6, 1944. He was brought home at last on April 8, 2006, and was dedicated on April 7, 2012.
