Sandhills Horticultural Gardens is a twenty-seven-acre botanical garden on the campus of Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, North Carolina, open daily without charge as both a public garden and a display of diverse planted and native landscapes. Its grounds include an English-style formal garden, collections of conifers and holly, and plantings of roses, azaleas, and rhododendrons. A fruit and vegetable garden, a native wetland trail, and a xeriscape of cacti, yuccas, and other succulents add to the site’s range, spanning ornamental garden design and habitat-oriented natural areas.
