The Meadowlands Environment Center in Lyndhurst serves as a hub for environmental and scientific education in the New Jersey Meadowlands, along the Hackensack River in Richard W. DeKorte Park. Formerly known as the Hackensack Meadowlands Environmental Center, it developed its current role through a 2003 partnership with Ramapo College of New Jersey. As of 2024, Ramapo College operates the facility under the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority. The site also includes the Center for Environmental and Scientific Education and the William D. McDowell Observatory. Its location in DeKorte Park ties it to the Meadowlands’ modern conservation and administrative history.
