Historic Lakeview Cemetery in Edgewater is owned by St. John Baptist Church and operated by Scott-McPherson Funeral Home, Inc. The cemetery was previously part of an area owned by US Steel Corporation and is historically associated with the Edgewater Mining Camp community established for workers of the Tennessee Coal, Iron and Railroad Company, later US Steel. Now encompassing 3.5 acres, the cemetery was deeded to St. John Baptist Church by US Steel on March 3, 2003, and it operates as a non-profit cemetery.
