Sayen Park Botanical Garden is a 30-acre municipal garden in Hamilton Square, centered on the former Sayen family estate established in 1912 by Frederick Sayen and his wife, Anne Mellon. Their Arts and Crafts bungalow and grounds were shaped by plants collected during their travels, especially species from China, Japan, and England. Hamilton Township acquired the property in 1988, opened it to the public in 1991, and further improved it in 2003. Known for extensive azaleas, rhododendrons, flowering bulbs, and an annual Azalea Festival, the garden is also tied to environmental concerns linked to waste from the former Mercer Rubber Company property nearby.
