Locust Grove was the home of Gen. George Rogers Clark from 1809 until his death in 1818. It was built by William and Lucy Clark Croghan about 1790. Presidents Monroe, Jackson, and Taylor visited. During the Revolution, Clark and his 175 frontiersmen defeated British-Indians and won the Northwest for the U.S. He built the first outpost at the Falls of Ohio in 1778 and was the founder of Louisville.
