Vicksburg existed approximately from 1869 until 1878 as a small village near the Minnesota River, 10 miles south of Renville in Flora Township. The town included a general store, post office, sawmill, and blacksmith shop. Its largest population was 65 people, but it soon declined after the Milwaukee Railroad passed through the city of Renville.
