The Glandorf Mini Golf Course was designed by Chris Gerding, Courtnee Dremer, and Devan VonSoss, and after five years of planning it won approval from the Glandorf City Council and Park Board in April 2005. The project began as a volunteer-built nine-hole course rather than a kit, with each hole assigned to a different contractor who agreed to create its own challenges, while public donations helped defray costs. Work quickly moved into organizing construction, adding a sidewalk around the trees, creating bench areas and walkways, shaping the holes, and coordinating concrete, turf, landscaping, and stone placement. Volunteers and local groups including John and Jerry Morman, the Glandorf Lions Club, Dale Niese and his crew, Niese Trucking, the Glandorf Garden Club, and many other named residents and businesses contributed labor, materials, transportation, meals, discounts, and specialized work to keep the project on schedule. Because of those donations and volunteer efforts, a course that would have cost $25,000 to $30,000 without them was completed for the park at a little over $3000.
