The men and women of Tri-State College were honored for service to their country in time of war, and the memorial was dedicated on August 12, 1950 by the Board of Trustees of Tri-State College of Angola, Indiana under Chairman Raymond B. Willis, with Ray Alwood, Perry T. Ford, Lewis B. Hershey, Hermon E. Phillips, Franklin H. Wells, Mark J. Woodhull, Trustee Emeritus George G. Niehous, and President Theodore T. Wood.
