Culver Ridge
Nature
Culver Ridge, also called Normanook, is a 1,500-foot mountain in the Kittatinny range of northwestern New Jersey. Located in Stokes State Forest, it is crossed by the Appalachian Trail and offers views south over Culver's Lake and southwest toward Culvers Gap, a wind gap through the ridge. More than an isolated peak, it is part of the long Kittatinny wall, a defining landform in this region of the state. Its significance lies in both its protected forest setting and its place along one of the country's best-known long-distance hiking routes.
