From 1898 to 1902, Penacook veterans served in the Spanish American War and the Philippine Insurrection, including Fred Keefe, Charles T. Brooks, William J. Corbett, James H. Driscoll, John E. Ferrin, Ceorce C. Norris, Cale Dudley, Ernest Royce, John A. Royce, James H. Wooley, James E. Fife, Napoleon N. Miner, Edward H. Macmare, Alonzo M. Nutting, John H. Roberts, Thomas Rouse, James W. Shea, Joseph A. Florence in the Philippines with the 26th Infantry, John T. Parkinson in the Philippines with Company H, 22 U.S.A., and Fred V. Terry in the Navy. It also honors Nelson J. Laclair, first commander of American Legion Post #31 in Penacook, New Hampshire.
