Nescopeck State Park is a 3,550-acre Pennsylvania state park in Luzerne County, occupying a valley along Nescopeck Creek between Mount Yeager and Nescopeck Mountain. Formed in the early 1970s through the acquisition of 164 properties, it is one of the newer parks in the state system. Its Environmental Education Center, opened in April 2005, reflects a dual emphasis on recreation and nature study. The park includes forests, meadows, wetlands, and creek banks, with about 200 acres of wetlands supporting diverse birds, reptiles, amphibians, and plants. Nineteen miles of trails, hunting access, fishing waters, and Lake Frances make it a significant destination for outdoor activity and environmental education.
