Brannan Island State Recreation Area is a California state park in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta between Rio Vista and Isleton, established in 1952 as a center for boating and other water recreation amid the Delta’s waterways, marshes, and islands. Its wetland setting supports abundant wildlife, and nearby Frank’s Tract is a protected marsh reached by the San Joaquin River where mammals and 76 bird species have been recorded. The park offers a six-lane launch ramp, more than 140 campsites, swimming, picnicking, windsurfing, and fishing, while its visitor center and canoe tours at nearby Delta Meadows River Park interpret the region’s natural and cultural history.
