The N.W. Franklin County Historical Society and Museum was incorporated on Nov. 11, 1966, with founding trustees Bassel L. Johnson, president; Eldon M. Schatz, vice president; Mildred Hart, treasurer; Raymond K. Bradley; Delmar J. Kunz; James D. Knick; Ruth E. Mast; Richard L. Kuhn; Lester T. Porter; and Mary Weaver Miller, secretary.
