Bridge Creek Wilderness is a protected area in the Ochoco Mountains of central Oregon within the Ochoco National Forest. Established in 1984, its 5,400 acres make it one of the state’s smallest wilderness areas, but it contains steep terrain, open meadows, forested slopes, and barren plateaus ranging from about 4,360 to 6,607 feet in elevation. Bridge Creek drains northeast from the mountain summit and divides the area into two plateaus, with East Point and North Point rising on either side. Its forests, shrubs, and grasses support diverse wildlife, while perennial springs and the Bridge Creek watershed supply domestic water to Mitchell and trails to the two points draw hikers.
