Lawrence L. Knoebel Covered Bridge
Science & Tech
The Lawrence L. Knoebel Covered Bridge is a historic wooden covered bridge at Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg, Pennsylvania, spanning South Branch Roaring Creek between Cleveland Township in Columbia County and Ralpho Township in Northumberland County. Built in 1875, it is a 40-foot modified Queen Post Truss bridge with a wood-shingled roof. Moved to its present site between 1935 and 1937, it gained a new use within the resort while preserving a bridge form that had become increasingly rare. Its significance was formally recognized when it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, and it is part of a notable regional group of surviving covered bridges.
