This carousel’s 28 horses were hand-carved in 1912 by Solomon Stein and Harry Goldstein of Brooklyn, N.Y. Lawrence Knoebel purchased it in 1948 from Croop's Glen Park in Hunlock Creek, Penna., and it was used at nearby fairs and carnivals. It was sold in 1950, then later reobtained and restored by Knoebels, becoming a permanent attraction here in 1976.
