From 1991 to 1994, 4-H Camp Palmer received accreditation by The American Camp Association, became more closely affiliated with the Ohio State University in 1993, hired an Extension Agent/Executive Director with overall management responsibilities, employed a program manager through OSU Extension, and adopted a new logo in 1994. From 1995 to 1997, a second campaign began, cabin renovation started, the camp celebrated its fiftieth anniversary with over 700 in attendance, and Erie Sauder donated funds for renovation of the recreation hall. From 2001 to 2003, the Woodland Lodge was constructed in 2001, eight more acres were purchased to bring the camp to 157 acres, and new staff housing, The Rock, was built in 2003. From 2006 to 2008, many renovations were made, including Vesper Hill as a Van Wert County volunteer project, renovation of the campfire area by Wood County, the bridge railing project by Auglaize County, addition of a shooting range in 2007, and construction of a new administrative office in 2008. In 2009, an old corn crib was moved to the entrance of 4-H Camp Palmer to serve as an entrance into the camp and a look back into its history and legacy. Today, 4-H Camp Palmer is operated by four full-time and 17 seasonal employees, and the executive director and program manager oversee maintenance, program, secretarial, and kitchen staff for the seven-month camping season.
