Hogadon Ski Area on Casper Mountain, about 11 miles south of Casper, Wyoming, offers downhill skiing and snowboarding on 28 trails ranging from beginner runs to expert slopes, plus a terrain park. Rising to about 8,000 feet with 600 feet of vertical drop, it has about 60 groomed acres and snowmaking on roughly half the area. Its most unusual feature is a summit-top main lodge with a restaurant, a rare arrangement in the United States. Facilities include the Prospector Chair and a beginner magic carpet, while nearby cross-country trails and two lighted downhill runs extend use into the night.
