Organized in 1957 as the YWCA Kennerettes by a group of young ladies and women from the Kenner / Metairie area, this organization promotes spiritual, educational, recreational, and social opportunities to many young ladies in the community. On February 2, 2006, the City of Kenner Council passed a resolution recognizing the organization for its significance in the history of Kenner.
