Cypress Point Club is a private golf club in Pebble Beach, California, whose single 18-hole course, designed by Alister MacKenzie with Robert Hunter and opened in 1929, is widely regarded as one of golf’s finest. The course crosses coastal dunes, forest, and rocky shoreline, and is especially famous for its oceanfront holes, including the par-3 16th over the Pacific. Its 1929 clubhouse, designed by George Washington Smith and decorated by Francis McComas with Frances Elkins, remains largely unchanged. Cypress Point hosted the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am from 1947 to 1990 before losing its place in the rotation over its refusal to admit a non-white member.
