Deep Creek Lake was property of the Youghiogheny Hydro Electric Corporation of the Associated Gas and Electric System and was under the supervision of the Conservation Department of Maryland. Streams flowing into the lake were Deep and Cherry Creeks, North and Green Glades, Meadow Mountain, Piney, Poland, Pawn, Gravley, Marsh, Smith and Bull's Arm Runs.
