The Alden House Historic Site stands on part of the original land grant given to Mayflower Pilgrims John and Priscilla Mullins Alden in 1627 and was home to generations of the Alden family. The property is now a National Historic Landmark and is owned by the Alden Kindred of America, Inc. The site includes the Alden House, heirloom and kitchen gardens, and the Alden “First Site,” the 1630 foundation of John and Priscilla Alden’s home, reached by trail markers. It also includes an original Pilgrim Trail, the “Duxburrow Trail,” part of the original path from Plymouth to Marshfield. Nearby related Pilgrim sites include the Old Burying Ground and Alden family grave sites, the First Meeting House Site, the Miles Standish Monument, and Standish Cellar Hole.
