The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame in Amarillo, Texas, created by the American Quarter Horse Association, recognizes the horses and people who shaped the breed and preserves its history. It honors breeders, riders, and other contributors whose long-term work helped the American Quarter Horse grow. The hall of fame began in 1982 with Bob Denhardt and Ernest Browning, and the museum followed after groundbreaking in 1989, when the first horses were also inducted: Wimpy P-1, King P-234, Leo, and Three Bars. Through portraits, photographs, artifacts, memorabilia, paintings, and interactive exhibits, it traces the breed’s bloodlines, traditions, and enduring place in American riding and ranch culture.
