Built in 1923 for drying tobacco, the barn by the mill was renovated into a home after Terry and Julie Clark bought the mill and property in 1978. In 1991 they had a daughter, and they still live and work in the barn. Julie's pottery studio is on the ground floor alongside Terry's workshop, the center of the barn is called the breezeway, and the old road once went through the barn. They reside on the top floors, and although the Clark family no longer owns Bear's Mill, they actively volunteer and donate to the mill. The barn home is 36 feet wide, 48 feet long, has 3 floors, and contains 5184 square feet.
