Reynolds Nature Preserve in Morrow, Georgia, protects 146 acres of woodland in the Atlanta area while preserving a historic farm landscape. Its recorded early history is incomplete because courthouse records in Jonesboro were destroyed during Sherman’s March to the Sea, but Robert T.S. Huie is believed to have bought the land around the Civil War and expanded the farmhouse afterward. In the late 1920s, lawyer and naturalist William Reynolds turned the property into his personal nature preserve and built ponds fed by its springs during the 1930s. Since 1976, county ownership, grants, and later land purchases have shaped it into a public natural and historic site.
