Daniel Freeman was born in Preble County, Ohio, on Apr. 25, 1826, filed on the first homestead in the U.S.A. on Jan. 1, 1863, and lived on it until his death on Dec. 30, 1908. He was a soldier, doctor, sheriff, and farmer, and was regarded as a true pioneer. Agnes S. Freeman, born Nov. 16, 1843, and dying Apr. 9, 1931, was regarded as a true pioneer mother.
