Organized in the late 1800's, Concord School operated until 1986, first as a high school and later as an eighth grade school. The school was dismantled in 1977. Its faculty included Henry Busby, J.E. Rives, C.C. Choice, Annie Coats Rae, M.C. Stewart, S.N. Pincham, Elizabeth Taylor, Seldon Smith Rainbolt, Erton B. Alexander, Billie Dennard, Mamie Moody Newman, Marian Rainbolt Moody, Bessie Chapman, Elizabeth Faulkner, James Taylor, C.R. Heaton, B.
