Mast Arboretum is a 10-acre arboretum and botanical garden at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Begun in 1985 as a landscape plant materials class project, it grew into a major teaching and display garden through exchanges with other arboreta. The site now contains more than 3,000 plant species in 20 theme gardens, including butterfly, conifer, fern, herb, heritage, and holly collections, as well as a pitcher plant bog, Asian valley, beehive exhibit, and vine collection. It is also the site of Texas’s first recorded blooming of Amorphophallus titanum and includes the extensive Ruby Mize Azalea Garden.
