Eaton Mountain in Skowhegan, Maine, is a small community ski area known for its family focus and mixed terrain. Beginning with a rope tow in the winter of 1961–62, it grew to offer 18 trails for beginner, intermediate, and expert skiers, along with a double chairlift, terrain park, and tubing hill. Its more than 622-foot vertical drop, partial snowmaking, and night skiing supported its role as a local recreation spot rather than a major resort. After the Beers family bought it in November 2008, it missed that winter season for improvements, later reopened, and by January 2020 had closed again.
