Nature
Georgia Perimeter College Botanical Garden is a four-acre public garden on the college’s Decatur campus devoted to plants of the American Southeast. Founded in 1990 by George Sanko as the DeKalb College Botanical Garden, it grew into a collection of more than 4,000 species emphasizing native, rare, and endangered plants indigenous to the region. Its plantings include bog plants, native trees, shrubs, vines, and perennials, with a large fern collection as a notable feature. About 0.75 miles of walking trails organize the compact site and allow visitors to experience a wide variety of southeastern flora.
